Our Story
Before Mother Mae’s Kitchen ever opened its doors, the foundation was built on decades of hard work, Wyoming grit, and a legendary local food truck.
Our founder, Marvin Munoz, was born in Nebraska in 1943. At just six years old, his family relocated to the railroad town of Washatch just outside of Evanston, following his father’s career with the Union Pacific Railroad. Marvin eventually graduated from Coalville Utah High School—but it wasn’t just an education he got during those years. Helping his parents run their family taco truck At Evanston High School, Marvin got his first real taste of the food business.
Before jumping into the kitchen full-time, life took Marvin on some Wyoming adventures, from surveying the famous Interstate 80 tunnel to running a repair shop. But you can’t shake a dream. Named in honor of his wife, Ella Mae, Mother Mae’s Kitchen is where Marvin’s entrepreneurial spirit meets the flat-top grill.
Today, every plate we slide across the counter carries that same spirit of hard work, local history, and family tradition. We’re all about serving up massive, high-quality burgers and keeping the community full.
